Independent Adoption - Open Adoption Services is a public service / volunteer site. I am Daniel Moore (Site Owner). For my day job, I manage a team that builds web-based business applications at Microsoft (dmoore@microsoft.com).

As my wife and I became engaged in the open adoption process, it became increasingly evident that the on-line support available was not well suited to our goals. Because on-line content was my area of expertise anyway, I decided to set out on my own. I originally built this site for our own purposes. Once we adopted, I decided to keep it going and make it available to others. Since then, I have continued to improve the content and continued to improve the search-engine placement.

This site is public service (hobby) site. I am not clear where I will take it from here. I work on it when I have time. I am not worried about it's future and I don't have any grand schemes for what it might become. Right now, it just feels like the right thing to do.

Since we have adopted, it has gotten more difficult to find time to work on the site. Instead of abandoning the site, I have solicited the help of a good friend of mine, Anita Wong, who has her own website design business. She has agreed to help in keeping the content of this site current and is currently preparing and posting all of the new waiting parent protfolios.
