Dear Expectant
Mother When we met almost 10 years ago, we knew we were true soul mates. We are also best friends with a lifetime commitment to our relationship and our family. Five years ago we were blessed with the birth of our daughter Morgan. Since she came into our lives, our faith and commitment to being parents have guided us toward our decision to add to our family through open adoption. Jonathan has always been very close to his adopted sister, who joined his family when he was six years old. Because of their relationship, we know that very strong bonds develop between parents and siblings in adoptive families and we know that the greatest gift we can give Morgan is a brother or sister to grow up with. CHARLOTTE: Charlotte works for a legal newspaper where she can use her skills as an attorney without the stress and time commitment associated with private practice. She has great benefits and a flexible schedule that allows her to stay home when Morgan is not in school. Charlotte plans to take an extended leave when our baby is born. JONATHAN: Jonathan works out of our house as a real estate attorney. His flexible hours allow him to drive Morgan to and from school and spend father-daughter time with her on weekday afternoons. In good weather, they usually play in the backyard. On rainy days, they draw and paint on the screened porch or play games inside. MORGAN: Morgan attends a local Montessori school which promotes early learning by allowing students to chose their activities and work at their own pace. As an active 5-year-old, Morgan loves gymnastics, riding her bike and scooter, and swimming. She knows all of the Disney stories by heart and often pretends that she is Hercules or Buzz Lightyear. OUR FAITH: As a family, we are committed to our faith and our community. We are active members of a local Methodist Church along with several other families from our subdivision. Charlotte teaches Morgan's Sunday School class, is active in the women's group and is a member of our church's administrative board.
