Dear Expectant Mother

We realize this must be a difficult and emotional period for you and admire you for your strength and courage. What has brought us together is our common wish to find a wonderful home for your child, with parents who will unconditionally love this little one, cherish and protect it, provide everything it needs to grow up happily and become a wonderful, strong and self-confident person, knowing that you have made this difficult decision out of love and the true desire to find the best home for your baby.

We would gladly be that home for your child. We are Jos and Jarko, 36 and 34 years old. We have been in a loving, happy and committed relationship for over 15 years. Three years ago we got married, which is fully legal in the Netherlands. Marriage here is open to both same sex and different sex couples, including all the benefits. There is no difference whatsoever. We have always planned to have children and we are thrilled that our dream of years will finally come true. We have chosen to adopt from the USA, because we really like this country. We have spent several vacations in the USA. Not only do we speak the language very well, we also like its people and have found that we share the same values. Also, several of our friends have adopted from the USA. It's great to see how well their children are doing in The Netherlands.

All of our family and friends are also looking forward to the day that we will finally bring our little one home. We have always shared our desire to become parents with everyone and they are all very excited by the idea of us becoming parents through adoption. "If there is one couple who should raise children, it's you guys" is a phrase we often hear when we talk about our adoption plans. And we can only agree with them. Through the years we have grown in full confidence to the moment where we can say: "We are so totally ready for this".

We realize you are facing a difficult time in your life and making the right choice is not easy. We just hope with these words and images to you, we are able to give you an understanding of who we are and what we could offer to your child. We wish you strength. Should you decide that we are the right family for your child, know that we will always unconditionally love your child as our own and provide it with all the love, care, guidance, respect and admiration we have in our hearts and in our minds. So your child will grow up happily, feeling safe in a loving environment, and with the ability to develop into a wonderful, confident human being who in turn can be a friend and inspiration to others.
