More About Us

FAMILY AND FRIENDS:

Our families are very important to us. Al's oldest sister lives in Kansas with her family but his other two sisters, their husbands and his mother are often at our house or we at theirs. Similarly, we spend lots of time with Linda's parents and her only brother who is married and has two daughters. We are lucky that almost everyone lives close by and we get together often to celebrate holidays and every birthday. Everyone is excited that our family will grow through open adoption and are looking forward to needing extra chairs at the tables for our children! Our lives are also filled with good friends, many of whom have children. We like to visit them and even babysit when we can.

OUR HOME

We live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Although our house is located within the city boundaries, it is in a suburban-like setting, allowing us the best of both worlds. We have a yard complete with flowering trees, fragrant rose bushes and a vegetable garden (that always has too many tomato plants!) but we can also get to work and attractions (zoo, Pirate games, Penguin games, cultural events) quickly and easily. There is a wonderful park within walking distance that has a great playground and we are close to a water park and Kennywood, a great amusement park that Al and I grew up enjoying. We are very anxious to experience the rides and the cotton candy again through the eyes of our children.


INTERESTS AND HOBBIES

We love to be outside and most fair weather days will find us on the golf course, a game we are both very passionate about. Al is very athletic and enjoys playing hockey and biking. He is always working on some home repair/remodel project or busy upgrading someone's personal computer. Linda's interests lie in creative tasks such as drawing/painting, sewing or crafts and she usually has a project or two going . We enjoy our interests both together and separately. We plan to share them with our children, but will encourage them to find what they like and look forward to the new experiences that they will expose us to.

WORK AND EDUCATION

Computers interest both of us and we've found different careers in the profession after earning degrees in Computer Science. Al has worked at a bank for 18 years and is a Systems Manager. Linda works as a Project Manager for a computer solutions company. She works 4 days a week, allowing her to devote time to her master's studies in Multimedia Technology. Her plans are to be a stay-at-home mom and to work on free-lance projects in her spare time (if she has any!) Although we enjoy our work and devote ourselves to doing the best we can, family always comes first!
