Dear Birthmother

Thank you for reading this letter. Although we don't know you, we realize that you must be going through a very difficult time, and our hearts go out to you. We can only imagine the struggle you must be experiencing as you consider making an adoption plan for your child, and we respect and admire your courage and love in choosing life for your baby. We wish you peace and comfort as you are going through this process, and hope that you have lots of love and support from those around you.

Our names are Angela and Matthew. We have been happily married for over five years; our love for each other continues to grow, and we are best friends. The only thing that we can imagine that would bring greater joy to our lives is to raise a family. After years of tests and infertility treatments, we made the decision to create our family through adoption, and we look forward to this with great joy and anticipation. We have recently completed a favorable home study, and are very excited to be one step closer to our dream.

Angela has her own business as a dance instructor, so she can make her own schedule, and she can't wait to be a stay-at-home mom! Matthew is a technical writer for a small software company close to home; he enjoys his work, and is grateful to be able to provide for his family. He works regular hours, which will allow for plenty of family time. We live in a great neighborhood – we can walk just about anywhere, including several parks with playgrounds, the zoo, our church, and friends' houses nearby. We are close with our extended family, have a wonderful community of friends, a loving church family, and all of them are waiting to welcome and love a child into our lives.

About Matthew, by Angela: Matthew is a kind and gentle soul – he is very sensitive and caring, and has a generous heart. He loves nature, and knows a lot about it! When we go for walks, he knows the names of the plants and trees, he knows about the stars and the cycles of the moon, he loves the smell of snow in the air, and he reads the Farmer's Almanac! He likes doing jigsaw puzzles, playing his guitar, going for longs walks and hikes, and reading good books. He still writes letters by hand, enjoys creating things – he designed and built our picket fence by hand, hand-crafting each picket – and loves working in the garden. Matthew has a great sense of humor and a playful spirit; he will be a great dad.

About Angela, by Matthew: Wherever Angela goes, things grow and thrive, whether it's her friendships or her zucchini plants. Angela is caring and sympathetic, honest and kind, playful and fun. She is courageous and loyal and gives herself completely to everything she undertakes and everyone she loves. Her faith in God is unflinching, her dedication to her friends and family unlimited. She is quick to see the very best in people and guards their dignity. She breathes deeply of life’s joys, providing food for hummingbirds through the winter and growing vegetables in the backyard during summer. She is creative and artistic; she sings and dances in an annual stage performance, helps lead music worship at church, and is something of a magician when it comes to cooking. As a mom she will be nurturing, encouraging and fun!

A bit more about us: We enjoy hanging out with our cats, playing Scrabble or cards and listening to music. We like to go for walks and admire neighbors’ gardens as they change with the seasons. We love going on day trips to browse little shops, explore hiking trails, or find whatever other adventure awaits us. We love spending time with our friends and family over a good meal. No matter what we are doing, we love just being with each other.

Our greatest hope and desire is to become parents, to love, nurture and raise a child with all the caring and tenderness in our hearts, to bring out the best in a child, and instill in them a sense of self-worth and knowledge of God's love for them. Should you choose us to parent your baby, we will raise him or her to always know of your great love for them and your tremendous courage. We are open to an "open" adoption, and would love to discuss with you what your thoughts and wishes are, and together create a plan that will work for all of us. If you would like to contact us, or our adoption attorney, we would be honored.

If you would like more information about our family or would like to visit further, please call us anytime at: toll free at 1-888-766-8728, or call our adoption attorney (collect) at (206)728-5858, ask for Joan, reference file #6527, or use this link to send us email.

Thank you again for taking the time to read this letter. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you continue forward on your journey.

Sincerely,

Matthew and Angela
