Dear Expectant Mother

Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about us and for your courage to consider open adoption. This must be a difficult time for you and we know it takes special people to turn unplanned challenges into life changing possibilities. Whatever decision you make, we support you in the process and hope you feel positive about it.

Both of us come from large families and we enjoy the diversity it brings. Pedro was born in Mexico and raised in Illinois. Steve was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Illinois over 21 years ago. We met 15 years ago and have been blessed ever since. Together we have achieved many successes, such as a stable relationship, building a comfortable home, fulfilling careers, becoming part of each other’s families, but our best success has been the adoption of our son, Justin. We’ve accomplished many of our dreams and have dreamt of having children to share them with. Family is the most important thing to us, so we can’t wait to add a sibling, be it a sister or brother, to our family for Justin.

We feel that the best gift we can give our children is an environment of unconditional love, encouragement, and fun. Coming from stable and affectionate family backgrounds gives us both the foundation to guide our child through their life. Having diverse and accepting families, our child will be able to accept other people for who they are and accept themselves for who they choose to be. We feel this is one of the most important things in life for nurturing confident and loving children.
