Jon is 33 years old and works as an architect. He was raised in Eastern Washington and moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington in 1996. He comes from a strong family who enjoyed spending time together outdoors and doing community service. Jon grew up a Boy Scout and earned his Eagle Scout in high school. He has always been an active runner, and as an adult, he has already completed three marathons. He loves all sports- in particular hockey and baseball and he plays softball on a local team with his co-workers. Since purchasing our house in late 2005, Jon has spent much of his ‘spare’ time gardening, painting and other home improvements. He is quite a handy-man!

At work, Jon specializes in designing environmentally sound buildings and apartment housing for lower-income families and individuals. He has designed a number of large eco-friendly buildings in the Seattle area. Fortunately, Jon’s employer is very flexible with his schedule and Jon will be able to stay home 2-3 weekdays to care for our child. Jon cannot wait to be a father!

About Amy

Amy is 34 years old and works as a director and coach in the same Seattle high school she attended. She has a degree in environmental science and a master’s in library and information science from the University of Washington. She loves to cook and bake, garden, sew, watch baseball and take care of our 8-year old niece. Her parents still live in the house she and her sister grew up in—ironically less than a mile from our home today.

Amy has enjoyed preparing our home to welcome a baby. Her friends and family are anxious to throw baby showers and send us toys, clothes and books! Our nursery is darling and we cannot wait to share it with a little one.

Our time together

We value and enjoy our family time together more than anything else. Together we love to attend Mariners games, go bowling and watching other sports. We love to travel- including local weekend road trips and short getaways. On weekends, we enjoy sleeping in, reading the paper, drinking coffee and cooking a homemade breakfast together. We enjoy comedy movies for a good laugh and we could spend hours reading a good book and relaxing on the couch! We are fortunate to leave in an area with a vibrant arts community. We enjoy chamber music, the symphony, theatre and literary arts.
