Hobby / Spare time activities

We like sports and being active, particularly in the outdoors (hiking, going on a picnic, bicycle trips, playing tennis, running).

We highly value social contacts with our family and friends, and undertaking fun things together.

Moments of the day that we find very important to share together are breakfast and dinner. Even in every ordinary working day, we cook with fresh ingredients, and take time to sit at the table together having our meal. Over dinner we talk and laugh with each other, and tell about our day. We love to have dinner with friends. If we have friends over for dinner, we love to cook a special meal and take our time to eat and have conversations.

Family and friends

We have a very close relationship with both of our parents, as well as with Janneke's sister Anja, and Morach's brother Serge. Serge is married and has two young children. We love to spend family dinners and festivities with them, such as birthdays and Christmas.

Our families are very enthusiastic about welcoming a child into our lives. Both of our parents cannot wait to become your child’s grandparents.

Morach's mother (Martine) is a highly respected psychologist, who has written several professional books about child development, communication with children, as well as therapeutic books for children. We can benefit from her knowledge about child upbringing and child development.

Our friends mean a lot to us. They are a diverse group of people, but they all have in common that they are warm, kind, and caring people. Several of our friends have small children, and we look forward to see your child have fun with his or her play mates.

Where we live

Our home town is very peaceful, and safe for children to grow up. All necessary facilities are available, such as retail and grocery stores, schools, medical doctors, a hospital, and a library. There are also swimming pools, playgrounds, and a zoo close to our home. From our home we can walk straight into one of the biggest national parks of the Netherlands.

Our country, The Netherlands, was evaluated in a 2007 report by the United Nations Children’s Fund as the country with the highest well-being of children. The Netherlands has a rich culture and history. Famous artists include Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt van Rijn, and M.C. Escher. There are many museums throughout the country that are very educational and inspiring to visit.

We have been to The United States, and we are aware that your child will always have a strong tie to the country. The United States will be in our, and your child’s life.
