Our Life Together

We met and became good friends in college and then surprised ourselves by falling in love.  We were married 10 years ago, and we are committed to spending the rest of our lives together happily in love.  Two years ago, we were blessed when our son Christopher joined our family through adoption.  Words cannot express the joy he has brought into our lives and the infinite amount of love we feel for him and for each other.

Our lifestyle is centered around our family and we truly enjoy the time we spend together.  Christopher has brought so much meaning into our life as we see it now through a child's eyes.  It's funny how the simple things can bring so much happiness and laughter.  We are so excited about sharing this joy with another child!

We enjoy traveling and have toured extensively through Europe, Mexico, England and Rory's homeland of Ireland.  More recently, we have taken a couple of extended trips driving around the U.S., and we spend many of our weekends exploring the Pacific Northwest (of course our dog Tucker joins us on these trips!).  Claire's family owns a little beach cabin on a nearby island and we spend much of our summers with them there.  We've also made our home and garden into a kid-friendly and comfortable little haven for our family and friends.

About Claire

Claire is a kind, sensitive, intelligent, and compassionate person.  She has always been drawn to children and being a parent is a lifelong dream come true.  She devotes herself to motherhood and is very involved in a co-op preschool and other moms' groups in our neighborhood and community.

Claire currently owns her own consulting company specializing in program and grants development for libraries.  She has an office in our home and her part-time work is so flexible that our children would not need to go to daycare.  Her other hobbies and interests include gardening, hiking, yoga, sewing reading, baking, and hosting playgroups and get-togethers for friends and family.

About Rory

Rory is an easy going, smart, dependable and fun person.  He is an extremely involved parent who loves to play around and he has a magnetic personality to kids.  He is a sports enthusiast and will watch or play any kind of game.  He is also an excellent coach and team builder, and he eagerly anticipates being  involved in sporting events with his own children.

Rory works in finance and sales for a small company that treats employees like extended family.  While he thoroughly enjoys his work, everyone respects the fact that Rory's top priority is his family.  Rory's other hobbies and interests include running, hiking, swimming, biking, reading, playing video games and wrestling with Christopher
