Our Home We live in a house in a very nice neighborhood of Vancouver, Washington. Most of our neighbors have school aged children or are retired. The area is very safe and is surrounded by many wonderful public and private schools . We are also near a number of junior and state Colleges. Vancouver is the oldest city in Washington. It is very close to several major cities like Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington and affords us the opportunity to have easy access to cultural events like Broadway plays and musicals, museums, zoos and historical landmarks. We are also close to beaches on the Oregon and Washington coast and to mountains and the mighty Columbia River. Our house consists of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, dining room and a big family room. There is a big back yard that always needs to be mowed! We also have a patio where we like to hold weekend barbecues or carne asadas when the weather permits. This is also where our dogs Freckles and Sachi like to play. Freckles and her daughter Sachi have been with us their whole lives. Freckles is 15 and Sachi is 13 years old. They are a special breed of dog called Xoloitzcuintle (show-low-eats-queent-lee) or Mexican Hairless and have no hair. Well, just a little on their heads, the tops of their feet and the tips of their tails. Freckles and Sachi like to chase squirrels, snuggle under the blankets, lie in the sun, go for walks or rides in the car and to eat hotdogs! We love Disney and especially Winnie the Pooh and friends. So much, that we had a Winnie the Pooh themed wedding. We spent our honeymoon in Southern, California where we visited Universal Studios and Disneyland (of course!) In Disneyland, we had a great time chasing down Eeyore, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh. We also saw the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast. We both love musical theater and have seen Les Miserables, Rent, Jekyll and Hyde, Titanic and Phantom of the Opera to name just a few. In keeping with our theme, we also have a Winnie the Pooh Bed. In fact you can find Winnie the Pooh and the Hundred Acre Wood gang all over the house. But, we do have interests other than Disney. For example, Tim also likes playing baseball, playing golf, writing songs, playing his guitar and singing in a local band and listening to music. Annette likes reading books, writing letters, poems and stories, going for walks, baking and doing crafts. Chandler likes to color, paint, play with dolls, blocks and toys, dressing up, reading stories and going to the park. We all like shopping for antiques and collectibles, magic shows, musical theater, movies, plays, museums, traveling, playing with Freckles and Sachi, swimming, working with our computers, riding roller coasters, playing board games, going to the beach or the mountains, singing living room karaoke and spending time with friends and family. And we love Disneyland... Our Families Tim is the oldest child in his family. He has one younger sister named Angie. His mother's name is Sharon and his father is Tom. They all live in Washington, so we get to spend a lot of time with them. Angie is married to Jason and they have two daughters and one son, our nieces Courtney and Savannah and our nephew Jaxon. Tim's parents are his mother Sharon, and father, Tom, with his wife Rhonda. Annette is the youngest child in her family. She has 2 sisters and 1 brother. Her mother's name is Jo Ann and her father is Neil. All of Annette's family is farther away, but we still manage to stay in close contact. Cheryl, Annette's oldest sister, and her husband Emmanuel live in California. Emmanuel is from Zambia, Africa. Emmanuel is a doctor and Cheryl is a nurse who teaches at the local college. They also have a home in Los Angeles, California. Her sister Bernice, is married to Teodoro and they also live in California with our two neices Krista and Jennifer. They moved back to California from Madrid, Spain which is where Lolo is from. This family speaks both Spanish and English. Krista is attending medical school and Jennifer is studying at UCLA. We are very proud of both of them. Bernice works for a law firm and Lolo does importing of a variety of products from Spain. That pretty much sums up our immediate families. Annette's family is Italian (both her father's parents immigrated from Italy) and about 1/2 English, Irish and Dutch. She is also bilingual/bicultural in English and Spanish. Tim is of Norwegian and Irish descent although he is also 1/64 Cherokee. Annette is a social work Supervisor for the State of Washington and until recently worked with abused and neglected children. She is currently working with foster parents. Annette also has experience as an emergency medical technician working in both the hospital and EMS (ambulance) setting. Tim is the Business Manager for an engineering firm. We both have the ability to be flexible with our work schedules and will do child care ourselves if at all possible. We both plan to take family leave time when our child or children first come to be with us. Any other child care needs would be met by friends or family in our home.
