More About Us

Joey watching trains at a local train show – he and Dad have their own layout at home!A little bit about us...Tom is a photographer with a major newspaper.  His assignments are usually local, and a good part of his day is spent editing from our house, which allows him to spend lots of time with our dogs and children. He is a college graduate and serves in local and national photography organizations.

In addition to photography, Tom loves model trains; he enjoys going to train shows and he is working on building a layout that will go through several rooms in our house. Our nephews just love setting up the trains with him each Christmas around the tree!

Chris is a master's level counselor who counsels families. Her office is only about 10 minutes from home. Her Snoopy at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Paradeschedule is arranged so that either Tom or she will be at the house with the children at all times. Of course, there are grandparents, aunts and uncles all within about 15 minutes of our house who are just waiting to be "called to duty", just in case!

Chris plays the piano and flute, and she sings both as a soloist and with as a member of her church folk choir. She also enjoys cooking, gardening, and family/friend gatherings. She speaks some Spanish, and we'd like to raise children as bilingual. Chris is also a huge Snoopy/Peanuts fan, and has quite a collection! With Tom liking Disney characters, there are a lot of stuffed animals and decorations!
