Dear Expectant Mother

How we wish we knew your name! This letter is written for You from our hearts, which are full of things we wish to say. We hope that this short letter and the pictures we have for you to see will give you a glimpse of our lives. Please let us begin by saying, “Thank You”, thank you for the gift of life you have chosen for your child. What a special person you are.

We make our home in a small town in Kansas. Virgil is a Superintendent/Project Manager in the construction field and Trudi is blessed to be able to stay at home. Virgil enjoys fishing; he and Trey like to do “all-night” fishing ~~ which usually results in NO FISH! He also loves music of all kinds, playing the drums and watching movies. Trudi is an avid reader; she enjoys relaxing with a good book and cup of Chai Tea. Trudi also likes to bake and has found that her new hobby is quilting. Our family always looks forward to getting away; whether it is a day trip, weekend trip or a ten day cruise, we enjoy spending time as a family.

When we decided to get married and have a life together we both wanted children together. After Trudi’s son, Trey, was born she needed to have a hysterectomy. The hopes of having children together grew and we knew that adopting a child was a gift that we wanted to hold. In February 2005, we did get to hold a very precious gift. We had the great privilege of becoming the parents to our youngest son, through adoption. We again find that our hearts wish to add a child to our family. We have two boys, Trey and Toby. Trey, who is 13, and Toby, who is 2, is the little boy that we adopted together. We desire to complete our family with one more little boy or a little girl.

We have a home filled with life ~~ sometimes a crazy life which gives Trudi an excuse to enjoy a cup of Chai Tea!!! We love, we laugh, we play, we quarrel, and we make up. Each of us lives our lives knowing that we are a family committed to each other. As parents, we do our best to encourage Trey to be the best that he can be. We support him in trying new things and help him to be active in the activities which interest him. We love to spend our time showing Toby just how loved he is. We praise him continually and have found great joy in each of his achievements. We will be thrilled to add another baby to our home. Adoption has touched our lives and our hearts first hand. We know that adopting a child is truly a wonderful gift.

This letter, by no means, can tell you all about our family. If we could sum up who we are in just a few words, we would say: we are two people who love each other. We are dedicated to our marriage and we are devoted to our children. We strive daily to give our children a solid, Christian - God centered home, filled with security and a peace, by knowing that Dad and Mom are committed to each other. Our children are cherished by us and we want them to know it. We know that any child who we are blessed to bring into our hearts and home will be cherished by us and loved beyond what words can say.

Thank you for learning about our family. We pray that you find peace during this time of making a life-plan for you and your child.
