Dear Expectant Mother

We know this must be a very hard time in your life, and we thank you for reading our letter. We hope you and your baby are doing well! Although we don't know you, our hearts are joined by similar circumstances -- we all want the very best for your baby. You have an unplanned pregnancy and may not be able to parent the child you love. We cannot get pregnant and would love to have a baby to parent. Your decision to consider adoption is a courageous one, and shows a tremendous amount of love for your child. We hope that you have people to confide in, to help you through this important decision.

Our names are Jeremy and Stephanie. We have always dreamed of having a family. Because of infertility issues, we are unable to conceive a child. Now we are choosing to build our family through adoption. Both of us love children very much and are excited about the opportunity to have children in our home to love and nurture. In preparation for this very exciting time, we have successfully completed our pre-placement assessment (homestudy), and so we're good to go!

We are a happily married couple, surrounded by lots of family and friends who are all very excited to meet our baby. Our parents live close by, and can't wait to be grandparents. We are in excellent health, and are financially very stable. Our home is in a wonderful family neighborhood with lots of kids and puppies. One of these puppies is our sweet dog Emma, a 3-year old Golden Retriever, who loves "little people" that are just her height. We live near a playground that we hope to explore in detail with our children.

Stephanie is a health care attorney. She loves her job because she helps people, and doesn't work in a courtroom setting. Steph is an energetic, warm and loving person who has always wanted to be a mother. In her spare time, she loves to sew, bake, play the piano, and spend time outdoors hiking, snow shoeing, biking and roller blading. She will be a wonderful and caring mom.

As a graphic designer, Jeremy has a very creative mind. He loves spending time with family and friends. Jeremy is fun-loving, responsible, and has a wonderful imagination. He is extremely loyal, kind and committed to family life. He has looked forward to being a dad for a long time. For hobbies, Jeremy loves to draw, downhill ski, hike and go camping with Stephanie (plus, Jeremy loves to barbecue!). He will make a wonderfully sensitive dad.

We are very committed to making sure our children have a secure home life with no daycare. We believe this is important to a child's development and well-being. As a result, Jeremy is looking forward to being a stay-at-home dad when we begin our family, so that he can give them his undivided attention. He looks forward to doing special things with them, such as going to the zoo, the park, and the aquarium, and encouraging them to use their creative talents. Stephanie will take a maternity leave after placement and has flexibilty at work, so as to be available to her family. She chose her job because it is family friendly. She's comfortable with the role-reversal, and will share parenting with Jeremy.

We both value education. We attended small private schools and would like to provide the same high quality education for our children when that time comes.

We feel adoption is a wonderful way to create a family. It is important to us that our child know how courageous and loving their birthparents were to make the very difficult decision of completing an adoption plan. We are open to maintaining a relationship with you, even after the baby is born, if that is what you would like.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read our letter. We realize that you have many things to think about. Rest assured that we will love and cherish your baby. We will be forever grateful to the birthparents of our child for giving us the opportunity to be parents.
